Today, I read about the journey of a guy into the IIM’s. And it is inspiring, thought-provoking and interesting. I need not say anything more.

I almost got a nervous break down! I attempted one more Mock CAT and I scored half of what I scored before. I wrote a nervous mail to the website I am studying on about how I feel I won’t be able to cope up. They wrote back a nice mail giving me some tips and pointed out where I might have gone wrong. I should:
Good enough. More or less I needed a guiding factor, which I got. Now it’s upto me to crack CAT 2009 and get a good percentile. There is a seat waiting for me in one of my dream B-Schools and I’m going to make it there!
Hey.. this post is specially to inform people that there is a free seminar on the IIM CBT-CAT player in Mumbai | Pune | Chennai | Bangalore | Hyderabad.

Today is a sunday. Right from school till now, I cannot study on a Sunday. It’s a day when you are meant to laze around. But alas, not for long! As my tutoring website reminded me, CAT was only 61 Days away (actually, thanks for this testfunda.com!). So i decided to hone some other skills….
So, that’s how I have passed my Sunday. Tommorrow is a new day and hope to study harder and score better…..
I took a Mock CAT today. I have attempted Mock CATs before so why am I writing about it? Well, the reason for that is because I’m gloating over my score! My score has finally improved (there may be others who find this score average, nevertheless it’s good enough for me). The only hiccup is the most dreaded section- Quantitative Ability.
Here’s how i have fared it the 3 sections:
Verbal Ability – 93.48
Quantitative Ability – 59.83
DI & Logical Reasoning Section – 90.44
So, I figured I needed to really really work on Quant. I know I need to practice more. The issue with me is not the concepts of Math, but the calculations itself (no, as far as I know, I’m not Dyslexic). So, I have made up my mind to spend more time in calculations and mental maths. How so, you ask? The website I am preparing on has loads of cool things like games and puzzles. This is the link to the game called ‘Mental Math Challenge’ – http://testfunda.com/ExamPrep/GameRooms/MyGames/9/7e2e936e-d179-419b-9d8d-9972591c037b
Hopefully these small measures will go a long way……
I’ve realised it’s time to wake up and smell the coffee! The web-portal I’m preparing for CAT on has a daily calendar which states how many days are left for the CAT 2009. It makes me groan and it makes me wanna buck up. I’m just wondering what other fellow students are upto and how I can get an extra edge. So one of the ways is to write about my preparation so that I am more focused (and have something to write about regularly!). So here I am, with 63 days, 13 hrs and 54 minutes to CAT and with a feeling in the pit of my stomach that says I’m not in a good place!
Ok, let me go through this section wise – Verbal Reasoning is kind of cool(although my grammar here may not be!). Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning is not exactly a piece of cake but I can scrape through just nicely enough. The third section, the most dreading one is Quantitative Ablility. This one beats me every time but i can’t let it beat me in the race to my dream B-Schools.
Anyway that’s all for the day. Coming up tomorrow is….. wait a minute I have no plan for tomorrow! Back to square one folks
63 days, 13 hours, 34 minutes now….
